C.F.U.A. SERVICES
Come diving in Cyprus! We offer scuba divers, both beginners and pros, powerful resources and knowledge.
Beginning Divers
Learning to scuba* dive is one of the most entertaining and enriching (and maybe even profitable) pastimes you can learn. Earth is 71% covered by water, so if you don’t know how to scuba dive, you’re missing out on most of the planet! When you learn to scuba dive with a CFUA member, you will learn the history of diving, fundamental laws of gas pressure and how they apply in scuba diving, types of diving (sport diving, technical diving, scientific diving), and much more. Most importantly, you will learn how to dive safely. Performed properly, scuba diving is a safe sport, but if you don’t know about the potential hazards or how to take the right precautions, you could be at risk for decompression sickness, nitrogen narcosis, oxygen toxicity, and encounters with dangerous marine species. CFUA member instructors will make sure you learn the basic principles of marine sciences and what you need to know to stay safe. Additionally, they will make sure you know about sustainable diving practices. We are strong advocates for ecologically responsible diving.
*Did you know? Scuba is an acronym for self-contained underwater breathing apparatus
Experienced Divers
Experienced Divers will find highly advance courses like shipwreck diving, rescue diving, underwater marine biology. Underwater archaeology and nitrox specialized courses, nonetheless, when diving to particular places, like, Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos, Agia Napa, Protaras, Paralimni, you will enjoy the marine realm, underwater caves, and treasures from ancient shipwrecks, where the present meets one of the oldest maritime cultures globally. The abundance of marine life like sea turtles, Amberjacks, sting rays, sea urchins, sea stars, groupers, octopus, sponges, sea anemones, corals, bivalve species (sea shells) combine with exceptional underwater flora, will definitely satisfy the most demanding diver when visiting Cyprus.
Just as on dry land, the ocean's floor has a magnificent array of diverse topography, from valleys to mountains, and everywhere in between. Marine science and oceanography separate areas based upon specific features such as topographical area, depth, geologic morphology, seawater composition, seafloor morphology, external forces (which affect seawater behavior), wave motions, underwater currents, tides, plus many other phenomena that occur from the ocean surface down to the seafloor. The oceans are constantly evolving, and we know almost nothing about them compared to what we know about the world above water. One of the main reasons for this is that, as humans, we live on land. Scuba diving allows us to use technology to literally transcend our species and explore a whole different world.
In Cyprus, researchers are using the marine sciences to study phenomena such as tsunamis, global warming, and icecap melting. The oceans may hold the answers to some of the challenges the world faces today and tomorrow.
